Fancy Fish - 6 hours

In this class we will be using the collage method of creating a fancy fabric Oranda goldfish. This is a no sew class, but when you finish creating your fish you can add decorative stitching at home, (We will discuss this in class).  Or you could sign up for Quilting Your Fancy Fish and work on completing your quilt in class.

 
 
 
 

My First Quilt - Beginning to End  - 12 hours

Have you ever looked at a quilt and wished you could make one but find it overwhelming? This class will teach you how to make a very small quilt from beginning to end. We will cover fabric choices, cutting, piecing, pressing, appliqué, borders, tying, quilting, binding, rod pockets and labels. With your finished mini quilt you will have the knowledge to tackle something larger.

Start Quilting - Rail Fence - 6-8 hours

This is a fun, easy quilt to make. This quilt makes a beautiful baby or toddler quilt or a wonderful seasonal wall hanging. It's all in the fabric choices. Beginners welcome!

Shaggy Chenille Baby Blanket - 6 hours

You have to feel one of these blankets…and they just get softer with age. These are easy to make with layers of flannel but you never know what they are going to look like till they come out of the dryer. Come learn how to create your own one of a kind blanket. Beginners welcome!

Quilting with Vintage needlework - 6 hours

Have you inherited vintage linens from your family or do you buy them yourself because of all the work that someone put into them? This workshop will show you creative ways to incorporate these special pieces into your quilting.

Introduction to Assorted Appliqué Methods - 6 hours

Learn a variety of appliqué methods, from fast and fusible to traditional.  By hand and by machine.

Children's Artwork, Applied Color or Fusible Applique- 6 hours

Have you ever wished you could save your children's artwork forever and get it off the fridge? Come learn a variety of methods you can use to recreate those special pieces you love. Beginners welcome!

Pansy Series - 6-8 hours

We will interpret a small photograph of a single pansy in four different methods, crayon, collage, machine thread work and appliqué. Students need to be reasonably comfortable with free motion quilting.

Folk Art Flowers - 6 hours

Make a basket full of flowers using a fusible appliqué method; then embellish it with hand embroidery. You will learn Blanket stitch and French knots. We will also be discussing basic piecing techniques. Beginners welcome!

Half Square Triangle Magic - 6 hours

There is only one simple block in this quilt but there are endless ways to arrange them into beautiful fun quilts, each with it's own personality. Come join the fun and create your own one of a kind quilt. Beginners welcome!

Frayed Edge Fun - 6 hours

In this class we will cover basic piecing techniques and quick raw edge appliqué. This is a really fun and easy quilt to make. Twelve fat quarters makes a crib size quilt that you can add borders to or not. You could also choose to make yours larger. Beginners welcome!

Introduction to Free Motion Quilting - 6 hours 

Learn a variety of free motion quilting stitches. Use your needle like a pencil and enjoy the freedom of free motion quilting. We will be making sampler piece with 20 different patterns on it. Come see which designs you like best. Beginners welcome!

Get Creative With Labels - 1-3 hours

Every quilt you make deserves a label. It is important to document details about the quilt. Come learn a variety of techniques for making your own creative labels. Start to have fun designing unique labels to finish your beautiful quilts with.

Binding Basics - 3 hours

Come learn the basics of narrow and wide straight binding and bias bindings. We will practice corners and curves so that you can finish your quilts beautifully. Beginners welcome!

Fabric Postcards - 3 hours

These mini works of art are creating quite a buzz at the Post Office. Learn how to create your own fabric cards to send someone special for any occasion. These are so much fun to make. They are a great place to try out new techniques. All of your scraps are perfect or nickel patches are options. Beginners Welcome!

Draft and Design Theme Quilts - 6-8 hours

Work with one of my patterns or create your own theme for a one of a kind quilt. I will explain how I designed these quilts and the process I use to create them.

Individual Instruction - 1 hour increments

I am available to help you with any part of a project, or even the whole thing. I can meet you at the fabric store to help with fabric selection, go over a new pattern with you and answer your questions, or walk you through an entire project from beginning to end. It's your choice. Beginners Welcome!

Thread Sketching - 6 hours

In this class I will explain different methods I have used to recreate photographs in thread. We will be working on this bicycle with baskets of fused flowers. Students need to be reasonably comfortable with free motion quilting.

Fussy, Fusible, Fun Queen Anne’s Lace - 6 hours

Anyone who loves wildflowers will enjoy making this larger than life Queen Anne's Lace. Create a beautiful 18" quilt using fussy cutting, fusible and free motion stitching. Students need to be reasonably comfortable with free motion stitching
