The Green Family – Circa 1917 was made in response to a Guild challenge given in 2007 – to be part of a special exhibit at the MAQF 2008. The Quilts of Good Fortune Challenge was to pick a fabric fortune cookie and to make an 18” x 24” quilt inspired by the fortune. My fortune was “Always be dressed to the nines”. The quilt I made is a picture of my Great Grandparents and their children that I free motion stitched in sepia tones.
