My mum collects vintage quilts and I love and admire their beauty, even their flaws. My interest in quilting grew, but with three small children time was limited. I basically taught myself with a little help from my mum. I kept my projects small and simple. I collected orphan blocks and would practice my quilting skills on them. I loved choosing the fabric that I would border them with. I was mostly hand quilting at the time and enjoyed having small projects I could take along with me. I learned a lot of lessons working on these pieces.
