Projects From Classes I Have Taken
Stop and Smell the Flowers
2012
In October 2011, I was fortunate to be able to attend a 5 day workshop in Deerfield, Massachusetts with Ruth McDowell. It was an amazing class and I love her straight line design and piecing techniques.
A photo I took at the Prince William County Fair, Aug. 2011, of Dottie the pig!
This is the pattern I created while in class, it was then traced onto freezer paper.
I made a number of flower labels to record the information about the quilt on.
The entire piece was free motion quilted on my Bernina 1130. I appliqued 9 flowers on the quilt and did a little hand embroidery to give a bit more detail to a few things like the bird.
