Vintage Inspired Quilts
This quilt is in a private collection.
Years ago I bought these vintage crazy quilt blocks. I pieced them with the yellow sashing but didn’t like it because it was too wide. A few years later, I picked it all apart and cut the sashing smaller. I was much happier the second time and I added a border but it got put away again. In 2008, I decide to quilt it. I added some hand embroidery and embellished it with crochet pieces, ric rac and buttons. There are words embroidered on it and quilted on it. This time all of the pieces came together and I am happy with it. While finishing it I thought a lot about how Judy, my therapist,has helped me understand and put the pieces of my life back together in an attractive way. I couldn't have done it without her and will be forever grateful.
